Super new music from Eric Volta. Available on Bandcamp.
“This record is an homage to the Goth / Industrial music of the 80s. The records contain samples from Diamanda Galas & Einstürzende Neubauten.
I was sort of introduced to both of these artist through the same friend. I was always impressed with the prowess of Diamanda. I found her to be one of life’s true unique creatures often thinking to myself that ‘If the Devil were a woman and would love to play the piano like a badass whilst howling under the moon’. This would be her.
Then there is Einstürzende Neubauten who I discovered after being introduced to music from the 80’s German Industrial scene. I found they challenged the idea of what songwriting meant to me at the time their often storage approach to instrumentation opened my eyes and ears. Having just discovered LSD at this time of my life – it secured a lasting impression.
Both of these tracks I have put together after some days of lacking sleep. I’m not really in the habit of releasing music with samples. This will be my first release using samples in a long long time. But Stefano being a good friend – I’ve made an exception.
